This course, certified by the American Heart Association (AHA), is intended for medical professionals who provide care for pediatric patients in emergency situations.
The PALS course focuses primarily on recognizing and treating respiratory distress and respiratory failure in infants and young children. This course also covers pediatric shock, cardiac arrhythmias, and cardiac arrest.
Digital certification cards will be provided within 48 business hours of successful completion of the course requirements.
The American Heart Association (AHA) PALS Book is required. Bring your book to your on-campus class, or you will be required to purchase a book prior to the start of class. If you need to order a book in advance, please allow one week for shipping and provide that information under the comment section when scheduling the class. Books can be purchased online at the time of registration.
Successful completion of the AHA Heartcode-PALS Online course and the subsequent in-person PALS Skills Check, results in the same certification card as taking a full in-person class.
PALS Online Heartcode® is the highest tech, official American Heart Association (AHA) Self-Directed Comprehensive eLearning Program. It allows students to take the PALS course on a computer instead of attending a traditional, classroom-based course. Using simulation technology and scenario-based learning, studies have shown this approach to be very effective.
